A negative light on the Thunder Bay Police has caused the force to reflect on how they can change their public persona.
City police are bringing back their Diversity Project from 2004.
They are vowing to revitalize the initiative in light of the First Nation Youth Inquest, a number of investigations into their force, and the National media spotlight.
Officials say they will revamp the aboriginal liaison unit to enhance their responsiveness within the community and consult the public on what they feel the force needs to do to improve.
