There’s now a one stop shop for patients looking for the care they need.
Several organizations have joined forces to offer a single point of contact for patients to find specialized services, called Access Point Northwest.
Norwest Community Health Centres CEO Juanita Lawson says they wanted to make it simple and transparent.
“When the patient comes in the next time, we were able to go into that system and say it’s been received, it’s being worked on because we know for a lot of individuals the not knowing piece is stressful especially when they are already struggling.”
People looking for mental health services, supportive housing, or chronic pain management can go online or call a number to be paired with the right provider.
Clients and care providers can access the new service both online and by phone, northwestaccesspoint.ca or (807) 624-3482. (Photo Supplied)
