Expect lots of talk about Ontario’s minimum wage as MPP’s make a stop in the city.
They’re part of a committee that’s looking at changes to the labour law which includes raising the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour by 2019.
At least 20 organizations will be making presentations including the Thunder Bay Hotel Association represented by chair Roberta Sawchyn.
“We’re in favour of an increased minimum wage to bring everyone up to a standard of living wage, what we are not in favour of is the amount increase in such a short period of time.”
The hearing takes place all day today at the Valhalla Inn.
