In election news across northwestern Ontario, there are some new and old faces leading area municipalities.
In Neebing, Erwin Beautikofer took home the top job.
Conmee’s incumbent Kevin Holland will return as will Greenstone’s Renald Beaulieu and Nipigon’s Richard Harvey.
Further west, in Kenora, Dan Reynard easily defeated Lydia Harlos, claiming 92% of the popular vote.
Greg Wilson is returning to the Mayor’s seat in the City of Dryden. Wilson received nearly 16-hundred votes in yesterday’s election, about 300 more than former Mayor Roger Valley.
Doug Lawrance has been elected for a second term as Mayor of Sioux Lookout.
Turning to Fort Frances, Councillor June Caul beat out fellow member Ken Perry for the Mayor’s position.
Meanwhile, Red Lake residents have decided to go with Fred Mota as their new Mayor.
The Township of Ignace has a new Mayor. Donald Cunningham defeated Incumbent Lee Kennard by 186-votes in last night’s election.
Finally, Kevin Kahoot is ready to lead the municipality of Ear Falls for another four years.
