The thunderstorm warning for the city has ended, but it remains to be seen how much clean up there may have to be.
OPP have one report from someone on Highway 590 South of Boreal Road who said the highway was washing out.
City police say Thunder Bay Hydro was attending an address on May Street where a tree fell on a power line.
One witness told our newsroom the intense rain kept side streets flooded because the storm sewer system couldn’t keep up with the flow. The City’s Public Works phone line is continuously busy.
The parking lot of the Northwood Mall is entirely flooded as well.
It appears the city may be getting the brunt of the storm according to Shuniah Fire Chief Blair Arthur who says his community hasn’t reported any damage. (Photos: John Ongaro)
