A good report card for the Regional Health Sciences Centre after a recent review.
The hospital went from 96% compliance to 98.4% compliance, or an A+, since its last survey by the non-profit group Accreditation Canada.
Hospital CEO Jean Bartkowiak says it’s impressive because the survey has gotten more complex since they were last graded 4 years ago.
“Not only did we rate better, but we rated better on many more criteria than in the previous survey,” Bartkowiak notes.
The hospital CEO says they were rated between 99% and 100% compliant in areas like intensive care, cancer care, mental health, and transfusions.
He adds this time they only have to make minor improvements to their policies.
Those include making a policy for the election of the Chair of the Board of Directors, and changing how abbreviations are used in hospital documents.
