A man from Ignace pleaded guilty to a substantial fishing violation.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, authorities searched the home of Lee Baldwin for moose meat and came across a freezer filled with frozen fish.
The fish had been skinned and packaged, making it difficult for officers to count the fish.
Once thawed, police counted 24 walleye over Baldwin’s legal possession limit.
Baldwin is fined $4,800 and has received a four-year fishing suspension.
