It’s been a long time coming for Charlie Brown and the Lakehead Transportation Museum Society.
Brown is ecstatic that after numerous setbacks his pet project of bringing the former icebreaker Alexander Henry to the city and turning it into a museum is now complete.
He explains organizers took it one day at a time and faced every obstacle calmly and overcame one hurdle after another.
An official opening took place this morning the Marina Park, Pool 6 Cruise Ship dock where the ship is berthed.
The Henry will be open every Thursday to Monday from 10 am to 5pm.
Annie, who is now 94 years old and the former cook of the ship, christened the ship as viewed below. (Staff photo/video)
