The District Jail is seeing two more infections in its coronavirus outbreak.
They are among eight people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay District.
The local Health Unit says the other cases include two infected through close contact, one person who travelled outside the region, one person with no known exposure and two who are still being investigated.
The cases include four people from other communities in the district.
Meanwhile, twelve people are now considered resolved and no longer test positive.
The district has 80 active COVID-19 cases right now.
Ontario is reporting 2,998 cases of the novel coronavirus today, and 100 new coronavirus deaths, some of which were previously not reported by Middlesex-London’s health unit.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says that as of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 174,630 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.
