A thunderstorm brought heavy rain and hail to Thunder Bay but no serious damage.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas east of the city Sunday afternoon, and forecast a line of storms would be heading east toward Thunder Bay.
The storm lasted about half an hour to 45 minutes and brought with it some flooded streets and underpasses because the amount of rain overwhelmed the sewer system.
One Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue official tells us a manhole cover popped out in the downtown north core as a result of the amount of rain, otherwise there were just a lot of false alarms to deal with.
Synergy North reported a couple of power outages, but they were in small pockets on the north side and in the intercity area.
Our Facebook page received many photos and videos of the flash flooding which occurred during the deluge.
No injuries have been reported.
