Yesterday was a crazy day. It started with my engine light coming on when I was driving to work. After work I had online training and plumbers coming over to the house at the same time. Trying to explain to the plumbers what the issue was while also trying to listen to the instructor with headphones on was not an easy thing to do. After the training was done I had to go pickup my boys from daycare and asked the plumbers if it was okay to leave them there for 20 minutes. They had no problem with it and I decided to take the dog with me for a cruise. My day was so busy I forgot how it started… yeah with the whole engine light thing, my car wasn’t lying to me that there was a problem. The dog and I are clipping along Balsam Street, window down, Dierks Bently blaring on the radio, loving life when…. yup you guessed it…. car starts to make noises. I’m praying to all of the Gods and a few T.V. characters (like Fonzie and Mr.T) to help me out and not let the car break down in the middle of a bustling street but they must of been busy.
Right before I got to the four way stop at Heron Street the car sputters it’s last breath and dies. Crap! I said some other choice words but I can’t repeat them here… my poor dog’s innocent ears. Now I don’t know what to do, I’ve got plumbers waiting for me at my house and my boys waiting for me at daycare. Crap! Alright, I need a tow truck… apparently yesterday was the tow truck parade because I couldn’t get one to come get me. Finally the good folks at Superior Towing saved the day. I also have to give a shout out to Matt who helped me push my car into his driveway and let me leave it there for awhile. My buddy Gerry also came to rescue and picked me and the dog up and let me use his car to get home to the plumbers. Our wonderful childcare provider kept the boys until my wife was off of work and could pick them up. Phew! When everything was figured out I went to one of the new patios and had a well deserved wobbly pop. It was the best tasting beer I’ve ever had.
Cathy texted in about her bad day and wow… way worse than mine
This song was playing in my head waiting for the tow truck
