The Lakehead Public School board is happy the provincial government is allowing construction to resume Monday at Ecole Elsie MacGill Public School.
At the beginning of April, the province told the school the construction project would be put on hold during the pandemic but since that time conditions in Ontario have improved.
The school is going to be working with its contractors to determine the impact that the shutdown has had on the construction schedule.
At this point, the new school is still expected to open by September.
The JK to Grade 8 dual-track school, is being constructed on the site of the former Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute and will house students from Agnew H. Johnston and Edgewater Park Public Schools.
