Well over 100 people wanted to hear from the local candidates Wednesday night at an election candidates forum for both Thunder Bay ridings.
We asked them why they wanted to take in the event at Confederation College, with many saying they hadn’t made up their minds on who they were going to vote for.
Others were interested in what candidates had to say about climate change, Indigenous youth and LGBTQ issues.
It was a respectful debate with some back and forth between the candidates of all parties.
Some of the issues discussed over the two-hour event included if their parties would create a universal minimum wage, Indigenous rights and ensuring First Nation communities have access to clean drinking water.
The Anishnawbe Business Professionals Association, the Lakehead Social Planning Council, the Thunder Bay & Area Food Strategy, and the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce partnered to hold the event.
