The Councillor for Neebing Ward is eager to get to business now that he’s been sworn in.
Cody Fraser tells us he already knows one of his major goals for the next few months.
“The designated truck route change [is] coming up, so I’m going to have to be lobbying my fellow Councillors to vote in favour of that. I think it’s an important issue for Neebing, and something I think can benefit the city as a whole as well.”
The Neebing Councillor adds he will balance Council duties with his final year of law school, including a placement with a local firm.
He was sworn in this past Monday, and says he especially wants to represent the Millennial generation in the next four years.
“I think we’re often labelled as lazy, not wanting to work[…] I want to prove to everyone that it’s not the case for everybody. I think people our age have a lot to offer, I want to demonstrate that.”
Fraser took part in orientation along with other new Councillors, explaining he’s been briefed on topics like accounting, but there’s more for him to learn on the job.
