The new McIntyre ward councilor is excited to get down to work.
Albert Aiello tells us he has mixed emotions after being sworn in to his new position.
“Very happy and proud… I’m glad my family is here to share. I’m just happy for the new council, with a great task ahead of us. It’s a great group of people and I’m excited to get started.”
He says he sees a steep learning curve ahead for him and the rest of council as they learn to work together.
“Right now it’s really just gaining information, learning about the corporation, learning how our tax dollars are spent, where we can make some better efficiencies for sure, we’re all working together, all learning.”
Aiello hopes the new Mayor and Council will bring change to the city in the next few months.
As for city staff, he notes they’ve been very helpful.
“Take advantage, the support of the administration has been overwhelming, anything you need, any questions you have you ask them, they back you up, its a great team.”
The new councilor agrees with the Mayor’s statement the upcoming budget will really set out their priorities for the next four years.
Aiello is also the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club.
