The PCs are putting forward a plan to avoid the federal carbon tax.
Environment Minister Rod Phillips announced the new climate plan for Ontario, aligning with goals from the Paris Accord.
Energy Minister and Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford says the plan will make life in Ontario more affordable.
“We believe that by aligning it with what the federal government intends to achieve as a national government, this is far more realistic,” Rickford emphasizes. “We think Ontario is well positioned to achieve those targets, and achieve them through this plan.”
The Conservative government, as of Friday, has legally challenged the federal carbon tax, calling it “unconstitutional disguised taxation.”
