Propane users are being encouraged to be prepared for winter.
Winter is considered a peak demand season for propane.
Companies usually have plenty of supply on hand, but the Canadian Propane Association wants to ensure homeowners aren’t caught off-guard in the event of a major storm.
It recommends filling the tank before the weather gets worse, and keeping it at least one-quarter full.
It even suggests scheduling regular fill-ups in advance, instead of waiting until you are low.
The association also asks user to keep ice and snow away from tanks this winter, and mark them with a flag so they don’t accidentally get damaged.
