Thunder Bay’s Children’s Centre is getting a Christmas gift of four handcrafted playhouses.
Grade 11 and 12 students in St. Patrick High School built the homes which will be raffled off at this spring’s Home and Garden trade show.
Proceeds of that raffle will go towards the Children’s Centre.
Grade 11 Student Kyle Otway tells us he really enjoyed taking part in creating the mini-homes.
The students are preparing for a career in the skilled trades and used the opportunity to learn and also give back to the community.
Teacher Ramon Verado tells us the students started working on the structures in October and are putting the finishing touches on them.
The Specialist High Skills Major Program is a series of bundled credits, designed to help students prepare for a career in a specific economic sector.
