Suggestions from Canada’s Labour Minister back to work legislation could be used to end the postal strike.
This after a federal mediator has returned in the contract dispute between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
A statement from Patty Hajdu’s office indicates it is prepared to use back to work legislation if a resolution is not reached over the next few days.
The union notes that threat will only undermines any chances of a settlement.
It’s now been thirty days since the union began its rotating strikes to back contract demands.
Canada Post is warning that job action impacts on their ability to get mail and parcels delivered on time.
