The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is calling on Canada Post to return to the bargaining table and negotiate a new agreement.
It comes after Canada Post proposed a “cooling-off” period effective immediately and lasting through January 31st, followed by binding arbitration if no settlement is reached by then.
The union says they will not accept binding arbitration.
The Press Secretary for Labour Minister Patty Hajdu says they continue to urge them to reach a deal in order reduce the impacts on Canadians, businesses, Canada Post and their workers.
