There’s plenty of controversy after PC party members voted in favour of gender identity being removed from the school curriculum in the province
Thunder Bay’s Derek Parks is part of the Ontario PC executive and indicates he does not support the weekend motion, and neither do at least two Ford government cabinet ministers.
Parks predicts it will not become government policy.
He notes the proposal “shows the grassroots party that we are” and “the Ontario PC party has a broad big tent” which has voices which don’t always represent “the general views” of the membership.
The local PC party executive member expects the proposal to be shot down at the party’s next annual general meeting.
