An appeal is being made for committed people to join the Fort William Business Improvement Area by its Vice-Chair.
With a number of people leaving the B.I.A. for reasons such as pregnancy, mental health issues and business failure, Councillor Shelby Ch’ng admits there are challenges.
She admits it’s a “high needs area” known for its conflict, whether it’s social or economic and his hoping people will put their names forward.
Ch’ng, who also owns Unveiled Bridal Boutique in the area tells us she spends up to 16 hours a day with her own business dealings and is hopeful that downtown core can turn around.
The Vice-Chair adds names will be taken to the end of the month, through the city clerk’s office.
