A helpline for Indigenous women is now able to text and chat with their clients.
The new technology is expected to increase Talk4Healing’s ability to provide support and services across the region.
Officials say talking on the phone to connect with others is fast becoming a trend of the past.
The service will now feature a live, trained counsellor who can chat and text confidentially.
Officials say over the past six years, the helpline has received nearly 20,000 calls from northern communities.
