Currently in Ontario, there are 18 sites operating and three applications waiting. Elliot says they will cap the number of sites at 21, saying 21 is sufficient to serve the province.
“They will all be able to apply under the new criteria as Consumption and Treatment Centres. The other three sites that were paused in Thunder Bay, St. Catharines and Parkdale, they will all be allowed to open as they submit their application.”
Elliot went on to say that the new name is intended to increase focus on addiction
