Thunder Bay Police are encouraging kids to get active with a new eight-week boxing program.
They’re promoting Boxing For Badges, which they say is going into its third week.
Police say young people from ages 10 to 18 learn fitness and basic boxing skills from Thunder Bay Police Constables and former professional fighters Matt Veal and Frank Tropea.
22 kids are involved in the program that police say will also help them improve their self-esteem and give opportunities for positive meetings with officers.
The police service runs the program in partnership with Canadian Tire Jump Start Charities.
