A faulty water boiler set off a carbon monoxide alarm in the 100 block of Winnipeg Avenue this morning.
Fire officials say they were alerted at six o’clock, and when they arrived they detected a carbon monoxide level of 961 parts per million–officials note that’s over 100 times the maximum amount considered safe for short-term exposure.
The home was evacuated and cleared of CO, and Union Gas was able to shut off the natural gas to the home.
Firefighters say none of the residents had any signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
