There could soon be a new federal party in Canadian politics.
Maxime Bernier, a runner-up in the last Conservative leadership race, has officially filed paperwork to register the People’s Party of Canada.
Official status as a party is pending approval from Elections Canada.
They say Bernier has to provide, among other things, a detailed list of 250 electors, a process Bernier says he will work on come January.
Bernier left the Conservatives back in August calling the party “morally and intellectually corrupt.”
