The American Music Awards will be handed out tonight live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles!
The show will broadcast on CTV starting at 8pm.
Here are some reasons to watch:
The very funny Tracee Ellis Ross (from the show Black-ish, and daughter to the musical legend Diana Ross) will be returning as host. She said in an interview that she will be doing a musical dance number at the beginning of the show that involves 20 dancers.
Taylor Swift will open the show, this will be her first awards show performance in nearly three years.
Mariah Carey will do “With You” from her forthcoming album for the first time on TV, in her first AMAs performance in a decade.
Carrie Underwood (complete with her adorable baby bump) will be singing “Spinning Bottles” off of her latest album, Cry Pretty.
There will be a awesome tributes! The legendary Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, who passed away August 16th, will be honoured with a special performance featuring Gladys Knight, Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans.
Also, rock band Queen will be feted with a performance of “Bohemian Rhapdody” by Panic! At The Disco.
There will be a variety of stars on hand acting as presenters including, Supermodels Heidi Klum & Tyra Banks, artists Lenny Kravitz, Bebe Rexha & Thomas Rhett. Also actors John Stamos (UNCLE JESSE!), Constance Wu & former child star Macaulay Culkin!
