Hockey Season is back baby!!! I watched a bunch of games last night even though my Oilers don’t play until Saturday.
As I was watching the Montreal and Toronto game I started thinking about why we cheer for the teams that we do. For me it’s easy… I grew up Edmonton in the 80’s when they were winning Stanley Cups. But what about those who didn’t grow up in a city that had a NHL team? If you grew up in the 60’s there was only a two options if you wanted to cheer for a Canadian team and before 1967 there was only 6 teams in the whole league. Now we have 31 teams that stretch all across North America and 7 clubs in Canada. For kids just getting into the sport now that’s a lot of options.
Look at these two hockey angels.
Please send Vic Krasowski flowers and condolences for being a Ottawa fan.
