Nobody was hurt in a house fire on Rosedale Avenue.
Platoon Chief Philip Dzuba says a neighbour called them about the fire, which he says started in the basement but the home’s construction let smoke and possibly flames travel up through the walls to the roof.
He notes they have to keep an eye on the structure for any more flare-ups.
“This is why we have to wait on this one here,” Dzuba explains.
“Because the smoke has travelled up the wall, and along the attic and out the vents, now we’ve got to make sure the heat hasn’t caught something on fire in the walls.”
He says nobody was at home when the fire broke out in a storage room in the basement, and it’s not clear what started the fire.
