Talks will be held over the weekend to get stalled contract discussions between Canada Post and the union representing most of its workers moving.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says it still hasn’t received a response from Canada Post to offers proposed two weeks ago.
It included annual wage increases of 3.5 percent, the elimination of contracting out of rural routes and proposals to expand services to include banking, postal service for Indigenous communities and broadband Internet.
Both the interim president of Canada Post and the president of CUP-W have agreed to sit in on the weekend meetings.
