If you’re waiting on a wage hike next year, you’ll have to keep waiting.
Labour Minister Laurie Scott has announced that the Conservative government is halting the planned minimum wage increase to 15-dollars an hour.
The previous Liberal government introduced the bill that was to come into effect next year.
During the campaign trail, Doug Ford promised to stop the hike saying it needed to be further evaluated.
Scott says there will be tax breaks for anyone earning less than $30,000 year.
The NDP and the Liberals have both endorsed the plan to raise minimum wage saying workers would earn more with the raise than with less income tax.
Scott did not say if the minimum wage would increase under the Ford government.
