The community is coming together to honour Indigenous women whose deaths or disappearances remain unsolved.
Organizer Sharon Johnson tells us the Full Moon Memory Walk calls attention to missing and murdered women and girls.
“Our missing and murdered loved ones are not forgotten. We want people to know that family members that are left behind are here, and they are still searching. They will continue to do what we can through this event.”
The walk gets underway at City Hall at 4:00 this afternoon, and will end at the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway with a ceremony to honour families who have lost loved ones.
The event pays tribute to Sharon’s sister Sandra, who was found deceased lying in the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway in February of 1992.
