Standardized test rests for math and writing showed a drop for grade six students in the Thunder Bay and District Catholic School Board.
Test results for grade three students were around the provincial average.
Board official Charlene Cavanaugh indicates the board doesn’t rely only on those results in helping students reach higher marks, and are just one tool they use to help with achievement.
Cavanaugh doesn’t believe parents should be concerned about the results and believes parents “have a lot of faith” in how teachers are dealing with their children.
