A greater number of passengers have passed through the gates of the Thunder Bay International Airport, as of the end of August.
The airport points to increased service from Porter Airlines, also flights to Winnipeg via Westjet.
Airport CEO Ed Schmidtke adds a big part of the 4.6-percent increase comes from northern Ontario passengers coming in on Bearskin, Wasaya and North Star airlines.and flights to Cuba by Sunwing.
That percentage translates to over 588-thousand passengers.
The airport expects the numbers to stay solid, with the up-coming Canadian Chamber of Commerce General Meeting in Thunder Bay this week helping.
