You are encouraged to donate to United Way as they embark on raising over $2.28 million.
United Way supporter Colleen Peters was their guest speaker at their recent kick off to their 2018 fundraising campaign.
She calls it a unique opportunity and organization, adding the United Way gives people “opportunities to get their hands dirty.”
Peters feels that by helping United Way, you can actually see how your donations and volunteering change our community for the better.
It’s something Peters has first-hand experience with, working for the John Howard Society.
“I have the opportunity to work for a funded organization, and without the United Way, we wouldn’t be able to do the work that we do,” she points out. “Every single day, I get to work with people that are given a second chance at life, that are able to build skills, to tap into resources,”
