Different name, same film festival.
The Vox Popular Media Arts Festival formerly the Bay Street Film Festival gets underway Thursday night, and Spokesperson Kelly Saxberg tells us they’ll have a number of international films screened.
“We again have Iranian films, amazing animated films, some of the Iranian filmmakers are going to be attending. We have films from Germany, the UK, Australia, and Korea for the first time which is really fantastic.”
Saxberg isn’t leaving out the local filmmakers either noting you’ll be able to see “Northern Meltdown: Uncovering Thunder Bay International Airport, which is about the airport during the big storm. We have At The Edge by Nathan Hatton which is about grappling and the struggles of wrestlers and why they keep doing it despite injury.”
Films will be screened at Trinity Hall tonight until Sunday.
