It’s been ten years since the Caribou Charity Ride was first held in Thunder Bay.
Organizer John Simms tells us they are offering four different rides today starting at nine o’clock.
Riders will be taking part in a 50, 75 or 100 kilometre road course, or 75 kilometre gravel course through Oliver Paipoonge Township.
All routes start at the Best Western Norwester Hotel on Highway 61, then branch off.
Simms notes they have high hopes for this year’s fundraising goal.
“This year we’re aiming for 40,000, that’s what we raised last year,” he explains, adding the race has brought in just over $300,000 over the past ten years for the Northern Cancer Fund.
“We’re very proud of that,” Simms says. (File Photo)
