Opponents of a proposed gravel pit in the Trout Lake area are taking their objections to the new provincial body called Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.
Lucy Kloosterhuis of the Lakehead Planning Board tells us there have been three appeals launched to the tribunal, which replaced the Ontario Municipal Board.
She believes the tribunal will make its ruling in the new year since it was created to help reduce the time it takes to make planning decisions in the province.
The board recently approved the gravel pit ruling it does not violate any planning laws in the area.
