Volunteer firefighters from across the Northwest are taking in two days of training during their convention in Thunder Bay this week known as FireCon.
Longbow Lake Fire Chief Warren Brinkman tells us crews will be getting hands on experience.
There’s a demonstration taking place on Saturday at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry base on Arthur Street West.
That’s where Brinkman tells us there will be actual waterbomber and fire scenarios on display.
The FireCon official says since this event was first held over 20 years ago they’ve been able to provide affordable training cutting out expensive trips to southern Ontario.
The convention also takes place at the Victoria Inn.
