Police are reminding you to obey the rules of the road once school is back in session.
Traffic Sgt. Gordon Snyder tells us parents also need to avoid stopping or parking at schools with “No Parking” or “No Stopping” signs or markings.
“We can’t have vehicles backed out onto roadways blocking all traffic,” he points out.
Police will also be out checking for people speeding in school safety zones.
He adds they’ll be enforcing the 40 kilometre per hour speed limit.
“Ten [kilometres] over is not acceptable. Five [kilometres] over is not acceptable, you need to be at or below the maximum 40 kilometres,”
City police note you should also be on the lookout for kids walking to and from school and buses stopping to drop children off. (File Photo)
