As a new academic year is about to begin, RBC has asked students how much of a factor money is to their happiness.
Almost half of those who responded to the survey said having enough money to enjoy a comfortable life was a big factor influencing happiness.
As it turns out, money is higher on the scale for students than other factors like having a vision for the future or even getting a job in their field.
The poll also revealed getting decent grades is the top factor influencing stress along with managing their money and being financially independent.
Women were more likely to be financially stressed with two-thirds wishing they didn’t even have to think about money.
Research company Maru/Matchbox conducted the survey among a nationally representative sample of Students currently enrolled in a Canadian University/College.
The online fieldwork occurred between July 3 and July 10, 2018.
In total, 1051 completes were gathered.
Data has been weighted by age, gender and region to reflect the population. Margin of Error on the total sample is ±3.1 percent. (File Photo)
