It appears the proposed overdose prevention site in Thunder Bay is going ahead.
Juanita Lawson of the Norwest Community Health Centre tells us even though the Ford government is reviewing the need for such safe injection sites in the province, ours is going ahead.
She explain they are currently hiring staff for the site but no date has been firmed up for the opening.
The site was approved by the previous Liberal government in an effort to stem the opioid epidemic.
It’s going to be run in conjunction with Dilico Anishinabek Family Care. (File Photo)
