A Red Lake woman is taking home the 2017 Northwestern Ontario Francophone Personality Award.
It’s given out every five years, and recognizes a person whose volunteer or paid work made a remarkable contribution to the development of the Francophone community in the North West.
Officials say that Michèle Alderton created the Association Francophone de Red Lake and thanks to her dedication and tenacity, she opened the door to Francophones in the region to regroup and enjoy their culture once again. (Photo Supplied by Association des francophones du Nord-Ouest de l’Ontario)
