The death of a man is being investigated after a body was recovered from the Neebing McIntyre Floodway.
City Police arrived at the scene across from the Thunder Centre just before 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon.
They are asking anyone with information on what happened in the days leading up to his death to come forward.
Investigators want to hear from witnesses who may have seen an Indigenous man in the Fort William Road area around 8:30 Thursday night.
Police say he was seen wearing a brown and beige shirt, black pants, and black shoes, with a slim build and short black hair.
The deceased has been identified, but police say his name is not being released at this time.

Thunder Bay Police and the Regional Coroners office are investigating the death of a male located in the Neebing/ MacIntyre Floodway.
The Thunder Bay Police are asking for the publics assistance: Should anyone have observed an Indigenous male in the area of Fort William Road and Isabel on the 21 September 2017 at 2030 hours they are asked to contact Thunder Bay Police at 807 684 1200 or at crimestoppers 807 623 8477.
This male was observed to be wearing a beige/brown long sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes. He is slim with short black hair.He may have been in the company of other(s) in the area.
Police have been on scene since 1355 Hours this date. During this time the Forensic Identification unit and the Criminal Investigations Branch have been assisting the Regional Coroners Office. A Post Mortem is pending In Toronto.
Police Uniform Patrol will remain on scene. The Emergency Task Unit and the Containment Team were on scene assisted by Thunder Bay Fire in a search the water and shoreline.
The investigation remains ongoing. The deceased has been identified , however Police are withholding the name for the sake of the family and the investigation at this time.
