Contract talks are on this week between the city and CUPE Local 87. City Manager Norm Gale says two days have been set aside this week to get municipal workers a new deal.
The previous agreement expired December of 2014 and they’ve been working under the old contract ever since.
CUPE represents 735 employees comprised of over 500 full-time and 200 part-time, seasonal, temporary, relief and student workers. They fall into three groups- Inside, Outside and Animal Control.
