Teachers with the Catholic School Board are getting some help in understanding Indigenous culture.
The board has created a new Indigenous Resource Guide that’s been distributed to all schools from kindergarten to grade 12.
The blueprint titled Learning Together is a guide that summarizes Indigenous culture, history, traditions and curriculum connections.
Superintendent Omer Belisle tells us that it’s an instrumental resource in moving forward with Truth and Reconciliation.
It’s been vetted through the school board’s Indigenous Education Advisory Committee which is comprised of elders, community members and Indigenous education staff.
