A female is recovering after police say she was the victim of a violent sexual assault on the north side early this morning.
They say she was walking alone around the 300 block of North Cumberland Street at around 4:40 am. That’s when police say a man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her for about half an hour. She managed to flag down a passing motorist who called police.
She was taken to the Regional Health Sciences Centre where she was treated and released.
The suspect is described as a man with a fair complexion and dark clothing,5’8″ with a medium build .
Police are asking people on social media to be respectful to the victim in their comments.
