Over ten thousand residents in the rural areas around Thunder Bay are without power this morning.
Yesterday’s blistery cold snow and ice storm caused many problems for power lines with Thunder Bay Hydro and Hydro One.
Hydro One is reporting that they are assessing the damage and that in most cases the power will be restored in by six pm tonight.
People in the Oliver Paipoonge area, and Kakabeka Falls area are impacted as well as other rural locales around our City.
Thunder Bay Hydro reported last night that about 500 people remained without power last night and that their restoration efforts will focus on safety first, larger number areas and then isolated pockets without power.
They add the storm hampered their efforts last night.
