Gillette is getting a lot of attention for it’s latest ad campaign, which is urging men to take a more active role in fighting toxic masculinity.
Their new ad racked up almost four million view on YouTube within a day of being released.
It is a series of vignettes which depict bullying, sexual harassment, gender-based stereotypes and illustrates how inaction allows them to continue:
This ad has not been received without criticism though, including that of British TV personality Piers Morgan who’s accused the company of waging “a war against masculinity,” a point that’s been echoed by an array of quickly multiplying YouTube comments, many calling for a boycott of the company.
